Hello,
I've converted a physical server that contains windows NT 4.0 SP6 to vmware.
I've used acronis for making an image of the disk installed.
I've used vmware-converter 5.0 for converting from acronis to vmware workstation 8.
It is converted ok with no errors.
When I power on virtual machine in vmware it starts to boot but it freezes when the blue screen with windows nt version and memory is shown.
It does not pass from this point. If I leave powered on it continues freezed, dot point are not shown.
Physical machine has an Athlon XP at 2000 Mhz, 512 Mb of RAM, one 38162 MB IDE Disk , and ethernet Intel E100B card,a DVD-ROM, parallel, serial and an old ati graphic card.
I've tried converting the disk to IDE and SCSI in vmware-converter but the result is the same. I've tried changing MPS to 1.1 (entering BIOS setup) and result is the same. I've tried erasing all virtual hardware in vmware except cpu, hard disk, memory and display and result is the same.
What can I do?
