Hi,
I'm running Workstation 8.0.4 on Fedora Core 16 with Nvidia Drivers from Rpmfusion (at least versions 290.10-2, 295-59-1, event tried 304.37-1). System is fully updated most of the time.
My main guest os is Windows 7 64bit, but also saw this with 32bit version.
When the guest os is running the CPU usage of the host Xorg server slowly grows, no matter what do I do with the guest os, even if it sits idle from boot up. First few hours the growth is minimal but after awhile it first makes a big jump and then the growth is more obvious after that. Here's a graph from basically an idle system with only occasional web browsing on the host os. It is taken from /prod/<xorg pid>/stat fields 14 (blue) and 15 (green)
(man proc states: 14. utime - Amount of time that this process has been scheduled in user mode. 15. Amount of time that this process has been scheduled in kernel mode)
This can also been seen with top command and makes host screen updates slow too. At the end you can see what happens when I suspend the guest os: Xorg CPU usage drops to near zero.
The whole thing is fully re-produsible, happens every time. I have not tried this with the nouveua driver yet but I believe this was going on with 7.1.x already.
Any ideas?
