I am trying to lockdown our "VMware Player" configuration for a Windows 7 guest, a few goals I have in mind are to have the ability to complete these specific lockdown tasks. Any ideas or thoughts from the group if these options are available at all?
1) Do not allow users to install the VM Tools package
2) Prevent dragging and dropping from the guest OS to the host OS and visa versa
3) Prevent users from changing memory settings, adding hard drives, etc to guest builds
4) Prevent users from creating new virtual machines\guest os builds
I basically just want them to launch the guest and not be able to make any changes to the machine itself. No memory changes, no shared logon access, etc............Can I some how disable and then gray out all the options? More so like a read only configuration file?
