Can't import Fusion Tech Preview VM into Fusion 5

OK, what could I possibly be doing wrong here?  I can't import a VM created in Fusion 4 > tech preview to Fusion 5.

I can "Open..." it, but not import, and not keep it in my Library of VMs.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Fusion 5.0.1 and Mt Lion.
